Welcome to emeds.pk which is owned and operated by emeds (PK) Limited (henceforth referred to as “We”, “company”, “brand”, “our”, “website” and “us”). We are registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) under the Companies Ordinance 2016. We are an online retailer of pharmaceutical products and offer consultations (henceforth referred to as “services”) to customers(will be referred to as “users”, “consumers”, “you” and “your”) who have registered on our website. In order to provide these services, we will need to collect personal information that you provide us with your consent. For more information, please preview our privacy policy below. Your acceptance of these provisions is mandatory for you to make use of our services.

Personal Information

This refers to any set of data (including opinions and references) that can be used to directly or indirectly ascertain the identity of an individual.

What information do we collect?

  1. Our servers collect information pertaining to your use of our website. This includes your Internet Protocol (IP) address, location, source, landing page, pages visited etc.
  2. Information you provide us when you fill out any forms on our website i.e to register as a user, consult our doctors or pharmacists, sign up for our newsletters, place an order and fill out any medical questionnaires. This may include your name, gender, date of birth, address, account login information, email, medical history, payment information, order history, doctor address etc.
  3. Note that you do not need an account to visit our website and we cannot identify you unless you are logged in. But you will need to have an account to avail our services.
  4. Calls you make to our helpline are recorded for quality assurance purposes. Any emails you send to us and the information you provide in them are also stored on our servers.

How do we use your information?

  1. To register you as a user on our website.
  2. To provide you with online prescriptions after a proper assessment of symptoms and concerns by our team of qualified doctors and or pharmacists.
  3. To process your orders and deliver medicines to your doorstep.
  4. To personalise our marketing campaigns by understanding trends in consumer preferences.
  5. For market research and study, purposes to understand the efficiency of a product in treating a particular problem and consumer preferences. Please note that this information will serve a statistical purpose and won’t be personally identifiable.
  6. To track website traffic and visitor behaviour and use that information to improve our brand.
  7. Customer care by addressing complaints left in reviews, emails and conveyed on our helpline
  8. To send you information about products, services and offers we think you may be interested in.

Transferring information

We take your privacy very seriously. We only share your information with third-parties that we collaborate with to provide our services. These include:

  1. Courier services for delivery of medicines.
  2. Google Analytics to get real - time website statistics and track the success of our marketing campaigns(for more on this, please see our cookie policy).
  3. Any agents or subcontractors we hire for data analysis, marketing assistance, business intelligence etc.
  4. Your doctor if you want us to keep them updated.
  5. Financial bodies to mitigate the risk of credit fraud and unauthorised transactions.
  6. Law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies if the law mandates us to do so.
  7. If we sell our business or go through with a merger, reorganisation, joint venture or financing.

Please note that we do not transfer patient records. All patient records are confidential and cannot be accessed by anyone apart from our pharmacists, doctors and pharmacy assistants. We do not share this information with third parties unless required to do so by the authorities.

How do we protect your data?

We take preventive measures against a potential breach of data. The company employs firewalls and distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS) protection to secure your information. Hence, we may require you to present a proof of identity or go through a captcha at times for your own protection. However, the internet is a sensitive place to store information, and we cannot guarantee that your data will never be compromised through a hacking, phishing or session hijacking attempt etc.

Retention

We store your information for as much time as it makes sense to do so from a legal and business perspective. This will apply to disputes, policy enforcement and implementation of agreements. Our retention time will also correspond to the health regulatory bodies of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Moreover, your data is stored in an electronic form but may be moved to a hard copy if required for our operations.

Your rights

We understand that you place your trust in us by acquiring our services and sharing your contact information, medical history and health concerns with us. We want to uphold that faith. If you are concerned about how we process your data, here are your rights as our customer:

  2. You can request us to delete the data we have, correct any factual inaccuracies or amend it.
  3. You can restrict how we process your data if you think we don’t have legitimate grounds for acquiring and transferring it.
  4. You can ask us to transfer your data to any third-party. We will provide a copy of this data in the common language and a machine-legible format.
  5. You can withdraw your permission to process your personal information at any time. Please note that when you do that, our services to you may be impacted henceforth.

Please note that our policy is revised frequently in accordance with amendments in local laws, business restructuring and other changes in digital and marketing strategies.
