About Mectimite 6mg Tablet

Mectimite 6mg Tablet is used to treat and prevent the symptoms of parasitic infections, such as lice’s, scabies, river blindness, strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, ascariasis, and lymphatic filariasis. It is also used as veterinary medicine.

How effective is Mectimite 6mg?

Mectimite 6mg Tablet is composed of Ivermectin as an active ingredient and belongs to an anti-parasitic class of drugs. It works by killing and paralyzing the parasites. It can be taken in single or repeated doses.

What dose should I choose?

For adults and children dose is calculated as per the body weight.

15-24 kg: 3 mg PO once

25-35 kg: 6 mg PO once

36-50 kg: 9 mg PO once

51-65 kg: 12 mg PO once

66-79 kg: 15 mg PO once

>80 kg: 200 mcg/kg PO once

For children (below 15), Mectimite 6mg is not recommended as its safety and efficacy is not yet established.
